DS90UB953-Q1EVM: DS90UB953-Q1EVM

Part Number: DS90UB953-Q1EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90UB954-Q1, DS90UB954-Q1EVM, DS90UB953-Q1

一、 I have TI DS90UB953-Q1EVM, DS90UB954-Q1EVM. Referring to EVM, I have made DS90UB953-Q1 board and DS90UB954-Q1 board, but the two self-made boards can not communicate with each other. Lock light is not on. I have carried out the following steps to test:

1. The DS90UB953-Q1EVM of TI connects to the DS90UB954-Q1EVM of TI. The Lock light is on and the board can communicate.

2. TI's DS90UB953-Q1EVM connects my DS90UB954-Q1 board, and TI's DS90UB953-Q1EVM's Lock light is on.

3. TI's DS90UB954-Q1EVM connects my DS90UB953-Q1 board and TI's DS90UB954-Q1EVM's Lock light is on.

4. The DS90UB953-Q1 board I made is connected with the DS90UB954-Q1 board I made. The Lock lamp is not on. The software opens the special card and cannot operate.

What may be the reason why the Lock lamp is not on?

二、I need the pattern Generation script file of DS90UB953-Q1?

  • Hi Meng,

It's difficult to say at the moment but it could be a layout issue. If the boards are working with the EVMs but they don't work when connected together, then it's likely that there may be some layout concerns. What cable length are you using? Have you tried using a shorter cable to see if there's any improvements in the results? Also, have you tried using our MAP tool? Try running this with the different configurations you've tried above and see what the difference in results is.

We have examples in the datasheet for a PatGen script. If you want to enable it on the DS90UB953-Q1, check section 7.6.4 of the datasheet. If you want to enable it on the Deserializer, check section 7.5.11.4 in the DS90UB954-Q1 datasheet.

  • DS90UB953-Q1EVM connects RX0 of DS90UB954-Q1EVM. It can't read 953's I2C address, but when it receives RX1 of DS90UB954-Q1EVM, it can read the I2C address. What's the reason?
  • Hi Meng,

IT should be working for both ports, are you reading from the right port? Can you make sure register 0x4C on the DS90UB954-Q1 is set to read/write from Rx Port 0 (0x4C=0x01).
