TPS65988: VIF and PD2.0 test

Part Number: TPS65988

Hi Sir,

We are using TPS65988 to develop PD3.0 hub which has two type C ports, one is UFP (connect to type C adapter), another is DFP (connect to POS device). And our customer ask for USB-IF PD3.0 certification.  I know TPS65988 has passed this certification (https://www.usb.org/products ).

We have already done PD2.0/3.0 pre-scan with our DVT sample, there are so many  test failure questions, as attached file. and FW version number=3.17.

The VIF and  the finalizing the .pjt project configuration file in the TPS6598x configuration tool as below.

thanks~

  • Hi Driscoll,

Many of the issues are due to configuration issues between the pjt file and vif. I cannot go through them all now at once but I can make some suggestions to start.

I would first correct the alternate mode and svid issues. You have Modal Operation = YES but the VIF SOP MODES section does not match your PJT.

Check the SOURCE port to make sure the VIF matches the PDOs delcared in the Tx Source Cap register for the port.

These issues are causing a few of the failures. Check these and then if there are individual tests you would like to discuss please reply with the failure you are unsure about.

    Thanks,
    Scott
