LMH0341: Are AC Caps Necessary on Video Lines?

Part Number: LMH0341

Do you need to put AC caps between the LMG0341 and the FPGA video lines? The typical application circuit does not have anything and there's no mention of it.

  • Hi Matt,

AC caps are only needed on the SDI cable side of the interface. Between the FPGA and the LMH0341 output, an AC coupling cap is recommended but not required. To verify whether they can be directly connected, you will need to verify that the DC offset of the LMH0341 output (1.125-1.375V) is acceptable by the FPGA input. Connecting directly to most FPGAs with this offset should not be an issue, but it's always good to double-check.

    Thanks,

    Michael
