Hi , as a precursor to using synchronous line concatenation , we have set up 2 ds90ub953 with 1080p 422 8 bit colour bar outputs. 

we set register 0x72 in 954 to e8 for RX0 port and  0xed for RX1 port and set 0x21 to 0x3c for the mode and 0x33 to 0x01 and 0x20 to 0x00 for CSI2 output. 

both 953 use the same sync clock from the 954 .

We are not seeing any output in this setup. 

Is there any way of inspecting the CSI2 forward channel to see what it is actually outputting , from registers ?

    Hi Martin,

    You can read registers 0x73-0x76 to verify that you are receiving the proper video into the deserializer. Can you also check registers 0x7A and 0x7B on the deserializer?

    In addition, we typically recommend that register 0x33 is set to 0x01 after all other configs are done. This register enables the CSI transmitter, so it's better to enable it after all configs are done so that the SoC sees a clean transition from LPTX to HSTX.

    Had no luck with best effort using the 2 of ds90ub953 set up for color bar output. the registers 0x73-0x76 are ok .
    Have set up another enquiry where we have setup the 953 for 30ips frame sync output to ISP chips and are trying to get 2 1080p streams synchronous concatenation mode out of the ds90ub954. No success as yet.

    Hello Martin,

    Please verify that you can receive proper video using PATGEN first. If the 0x74-0x76 registers are correct and you have forwarding enabled, plus the CSI-2 transmitter enabled then there is most likely a problem with your CSI-2 reception. That is why I would suggest utilizing the PATGEN from the 954 first before moving to the sensors.

    The DS90UB953 colour bars cannot be synchronised so have abandoned this approach. 

    Now trying to get 1080p sync video from two image sensors in line concat mode .

    So this post can be closed . There is another post with Mandeep S 

    DS90UB954-Q1: line concatenation synchronous mode setup with 2 x ds90ub953 streaming test colour bars

    where we are trying to get  2 AP1302 ISP devices to  line concatenate.

    Both streams are present into the 954 at 1920 x 2160 resolution as reported by ALP info page and both can be displayed individually via VLC through the CX3 MIPI to USB device.
