DS90UB953A-Q1: 2 CMOS camera

Part Number: DS90UB953A-Q1

Hi Team,

In my application I have 2 CMOS Camera of Omnivision, I connect the CLK IN of both CMOS.

Each CMOS have LANE 0 & LANE 1 that connect to the DS90UB953 (LANE 0 & LANE 1 of CMOS 1 connect to DS90UB953 & LANE 0 & LANE 1 of CMOS 2 connect to DS90UB953).

Each CMOS have CLK OUTPUT but only the CLK OUTPUT from CMOS 1 connect to DS90UB953, the CLK OUTPUT of CMOS 2 is disconnect (not connect to DS90UB953).

The CMOS camera of Omnivision have: Each LANE have 800bps, 2 LANE MIPI, 1M pixel 120FPS.

That the DS90UB953 can support such application?

I know that TI will have soon samples of DS90UB971/3/5 so I have question about them:

How many lanes 4 or 8 and what the bps of each lane 800 or 1600bps?

Thanks,

Shlomi

  • Hello Shlomi,

This is something we have recently decided to investigate and we are planning to run some testing on it next week. I will plan to respond back when we have initial data showing whether this does or does not work.

For roadmap devices we are not sharing information on E2E at this time. Please focus only on released devices on TI.com

    Best Regards,
    Casey
  • Hello Shlomi,

We tested this use case feeding two synchronized two lane imagers into 953 and it did not work correctly. As of now we believe there is no way to do this, however if we find a way then I will update you. For the time being, please use twp separate serailziers.

    Best Regards,
    Casey
