DS90UB953-Q1: DS90UB953-Q1 serial interface (I2C) device connections

Hello TI,

ZF TRW is using DS90UB953-Q1 for ADAS camera application. We got one doubt that how many I2C slave devices we can connect to DS90UB953-Q1 serializer I2C bus?

Currently we have seven I2C devices those need to be communicated over I2C bus with Image processing module via SERDES, please let us know is there constraint on I2C slave device limit on Serializer I2C bus.

Hello Sundar,

Technically it’s a total of 8 slave devices plus 1 Serializer SlaveID/SlaveAlias register sets support per RX port of the Deserializer. However, you can have up o 64 Slaves by reassigning each SlaveID/SlaveAlias pair to the target device.
Note this only applies using I2C in pass through mode on the Deserializer..

Thanks for your clarification. we understood that we can have up to 64 I2C devices on I2C bus (including Serializer).
