TUSB422: I'm trying to bring up a TM4C129x based system using a TUSB422 - Help

Part Number: TUSB422

I have the TUSB422 software for MSP430 series processors provided by the "More Information" link on TI TUSB422 product page, but that's not a great leg up for use with the TM4C129x family of processors.

Is there a better option than trying to rework that code for our system?

Is there any documentation beyond the register description available in the TUSB422's data sheet describing how to manage the chip?

Our end goal in this is to provide PD management and a vendor specific alternate mode protocol.

Peter:
We only have code for MSP430 and you can do any change you want, but we can not support for other processors right now. You may need to do it by yourself, we can give register information.

If you have register information beyond that supplied in the TUSB422 Datasheet I would be very interested to obtain it.

It looks like the document I was looking for is the "USB-C Port Controller Specification" document. It describes TCPC (Type-C Port Controller) which crops up all through the TUSB422 documentation, but without a link to the specification document (www.usb.org/.../usb-port_controller_specification_rev2.0_v1.0_0.pdf).

Fair enough that the TUSB422 documentation doesn't attempt to reproduce any significant part of that document, but an indication that the document exists would be helpful and a link would be even more helpful.

Note however that the document linked is for a newer version of the specification than the TUSB422 claims to use. Maybe TI has a copy of the specification document that the TUSB422 was implemented against and can make that available? USB ORG doesn't make it easy to get old versions of standards.

If you mean the document "Universal Serial Bus C TM Port Controller Specification", then I already found a copy of revision 2 of it (even linked it in e2e.ti.com/.../805539). Thank you for digging it out for me though, and I am interested if it's an earlier revision that matches the revision the TUSB422 was designed against.

As suggested in my forum post, it would be nice if the TCPC spec were mentioned in the TUSB422 documentation, perhaps in section 11.2.
