LMH1981: Cable Equalizer

Part Number: LMH1981

Hi,

My customer would like to use LMH1981 as GENLOCK circuit. In this case,  This circuit don't need cable equlizer? D/S Figure 2. mentioned no cable equlizer test circuit.

    I'm not very familiar with this device, but I will try to help here. A cable equalizer may be needed if driving long cable lengths.

    Hi Lane,

    They are considering LMH1981 with following conditions. Is that ok w/o equalizer?
    Cable: 200m
    Signal: 1080p

    Hi Kotaro,

    The circuit in Figure 2 expects a low-noise, broadcast quality input signal. Long cable length will degrade signal integrity. An equalizer may be required for a 200m cable.

    The customer might test the quality of the input video signal to LMH1981 after 200m cable to determine whether an equalizer is necessary. Alternatively, the customer might run a simulation using the driver, cable, and/or equalizer IBIS models.
