HI Team 

We need information related to firmware of the  TPS65987DDJ .

1.We would like to know if FW of the device is completely controllable and reloadable, and its PD PHY is fully controllable from outside. 

2. If this device has the same PD PHY as TUSB422 and it can be fully controlled from outside, disconnecting/disabling the device’s internal control logic.

    1. Yes the TPS65987DDJ FW can be controlled and reloaded. Our device operates on ROM/RAM, where the ROM is physically etched within the silicon of our device, and the RAM is loaded via an external SPI Flash or from an external EC via I2C. Certain registers/bits can only be changed when the device receives the patch bundle from the external SPI flash, but a majority of the registers/bits for the TPS65987DDJ can be controlled by an external EC on the fly, once the patch bundle has already been loaded.

    2. The internal logic for the TPS65987DDJ CANNOT be fully disabled. You can change the configuration on the fly so that it would advertise something different, but there is not way to completely disable functionality.
