Linux/DS90UB941AS-Q1: how config 941&948 with HV mode

Part Number: DS90UB941AS-Q1

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

I use 941-948 to transmit vedio to panel, and the panel is HV sync mode.My mipi output is vedio mode,RGB888,the display timing is config as the panel spec.

But nothing show on the screen.I have another panel which used DE mode, and I can drive this panel display the right things. So I think I should config 941&948 to

work on HV mode. I try to config the FRC_CONTROL 0x29【bit7】 = 1 , but panel still show nothing. How should I config the 941&948? Thanks!

  • Hello,
Would you please help on this urgent case? thanks very much.
  • Leo,

    Sorry for late.

for your issue, the reg. 0x29 just is used for FRC. unfortunately, 941/948 can't tune the Sync. mode or DE mode as our device just is used as bridge, and can't change the video format. so the video signal from the SoC in your system only can set the sync. mode or DE mode to match the panel request.

if you need enable the FRC function side 948, you also need set 0x29 base on the video input format (sync mode or DE mode).

    Image Enhancement Features (continued)
For proper operation of the FRC dithering feature, the user must provide a description of the display timing
control signals. The timing mode, sync mode (HS, VS) or DE only must be specified, along with the active
polarity of the timing control signals. All this information is entered to device control registers via the serial bus
    interface.

    best regards,

    Steven

  • Hi junqiang,

941 was MIPI-DSI input, it use sync event ,sync plus.etc. 948 was lvds output which have DE/HS/VS data,so how should I config my soc to output the right formaat to match the panel timing? Thanks

  • Hello,

For this issue, 941/948 just is one bridge to transmit the video signal transparently, so the SOC output should match the panel video timing request.

    bet regards,

    Steven
