Dear SIR:

May I have some double confirming item for  PCA9543A application ?

As we know that we have "Device 1 and Device 2  have the same SMBUS Address".

Therefore,We use PCA9543A  2-Channel I 2C Bus Switch  Device 1 and Device 2.

But we have confirming item as below:

If  we have 2  Daughter Board connect together by cable from Host (Detail as below)

Would you help to double confirming the PCA9543A application have any problem ?

(Ex: Daughter Board (1) Device 1  and  Daughter Board (2) Device 1  have any issue?(When Host side control it ) )

    Hi Alex,

    It seems that configuring the same address for the PCA9543A on both daughter boards will be problematic. For example, if you try to communicate with Device 1 on Daughter Board 1, you would also turn on the channel on Daughter Board 2 to communicate with its Device 1. Since those devices share a common address, you wouldn't be able to specify a particular device and any read commands could become corrupted. Would it be possible to configure the switch devices to have different addresses?

    By the way, I would recommend considering the TCA9543A device over the PCA9543A. It is a pin-to-pin functional equivalent but improves on the supported supply voltage range and removes some restrictions around the power ramp profile required for successful power-on-reset.
