TPS65987D: Initial Flash Programming

Part Number: TPS65987D

Does the spi flash have to be programmed through the TPS6598x Application Customization Tool when programming the initial flash image or can the spi flash be programmed through the TPS65987D using the FLem, FLad, FLwr commands?

    Hi Brett,

    When the SPI Flash chip is empty, it will need to be programmed using an external programmer (Like the FTDI chip that is on the TPS65987EVM or something like an Aardvark). The TPS65987D will only be able to execute the FLxx commands once there is a valid configuration in the SPI Flash and the PD controller can boot up successfully.
