Dear sir,

We'd like to utilize TCA9554A to light on LED and is blinking with a fixed period.

If LED is turn on/off with 500Hz/500Hz, can we deliver once command and then TCA9554A will keep blinking?

or we need to deliver periodical command for LED blinking?

Hey Kevin,

Our IO expanders do not have that kind of functionality. What you are looking for is something with PWM. I would suggest something like TCA6507 (LED Driver) for something like that.

I see TCA6507 includes PWM circuit and intensity control register,

so we don't need to deliver repeated I2C command for LED blinking, is correct?

Hey Kevin,

Yes, that is correct. Once you have the device programmed, you will not need to repeatedly talk to it to turn it off and on over and over.
