Could you provide max cable length for TCA9803?

My customer'd like to drive up to 40cm cable.

    Hey Shota,

    Assuming a cable has 50pF per meter and our device supports 400pF of capacitive loading then we could theoretically transmit across 8meters of cable. 40cm should not be a problem for TCA9803.

    Let me ask you another question.

    In my customer's use-case, master and slave are populated on separate boards and communicate via 40cm cable.

    In this case, is it necessary to use TCA9803 for both boards?

    Hey Shota-san,

    How many master and slaves are there?

    Are the PCB traces long?

    If the PCB traces are short and sif the amount of slaves/masters are low then you do not need two TCA980x devices. You could most likely get away with one instead of two.
