BQ24392: SDP 100mA, 500mA detection

Part Number: BQ24392

our customer wants to know how to switch 100mA SDP, 500mA SDP switching during in SDP definition.

Would you help us how to select 100mA SDP or 500mA SDP

  • Hello Toshiro,

SDP ports change from 100 mA to 500 mA based on information exchanged between the host and the device during USB enumeration.  The BQ24392 does not snoop the USB traffic and cannot determine when the SDP ports change from 100 mA to 500 mA.

    Regards,

    JMMN

  • Hi,

SDP had a max current limit of 500 mA as defined by the USB BC spec. BQ24392 detects the connected device as a SDP the current limit is set when the device become configured and not in suspend. 100 mA max is used when the device is connected but not configured and not in suspend. 500 mA max is used when the device is configured and not suspended.
