SN75DP159: Datasheet Solder Pad size different from Rev A to Rev F

Part Number: SN75DP159
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: SN65DP159

Hello,

My customer has noticed a change in the datasheet solder pad size from Rev A to Rev F of the datasheet.

  1. Solder Pad size: 0,85 x 0,28 (rev A) vs 0,60 x 0,24 (rev F) , see red arrows.
  2. Center of the pads is 6,95 (rev A) vs 6,80 (rev F) .
  3. Overall the pad Layout dimension was 7,8mm at rev A, but in the rev F is 7,4mm

They're fine with changing it but want to ensure that the Rev F dimensions are correct. Can you comment?

  • Hi Michael,

The mechanical drawings get automatically updated based on inputs from the packaging team.  The drawing update is correct, my guess is that they changed the recommendation to improve manufacturability and reduce assembly errors.  There has been no change in the actual package of the DP159 device, so you would still be able to use the Rev A dimensions.  Rev F is just the updated recommendation.
