TPS65987D: Samsung S9/S10 does not get video out.

Hello Aleksey,

Do you have a PD analyzer and can capture the PD logs being sent by the two devices? If you do not have one, I highly recommend investing in one. We typically recommend the PD Analyzer manufactured by Total Phase. For problems like this where it is most likely an issue occurring through the negotiation process, it is difficult to debug without looking at the PD logs.

Another thing you can try in the meantime is to play with the DP pin assignments/configuration within the GUI. Can read the following application note to help explain the DP alternate mode.

It is being while, but issue still exist.
We did investigate every possible different settings in Display Port configuration register 0x51.
Unfortunately, nothing works.

We did get a PD analyzer, and in the protocol of communication TPS65978D and Samsung S10e nothing says about DisplayPort.

For some reason, right after negotiation of power the phone sends initiator message, but it is not doing it with our device based on TPS65987D.
Can you check it and tell if we need to do anything different?

In your last post you said that there is no Discover Identity message, but to me it looks like we have such a message here.

After this message the phone ask's for more power only. Here, Product Type of our device is Peripheral, while the converter cable Product Type it is not a Peripheral but Alt mode adapter, and then DP discovery starts.
I feel this is the main issue; however, I cannot find a way of changing Product Type in Application Customization Tool.
