DP83867IR: WOL with broadcast packet

The issue that we had been talking was resolved when the packet data is non-broadcast magic packet and at correct register setting.

At Non-broadcast magic packet then wakeups and INT become low.

However it will be waked up even if the packet is with broadcast. (But MIICR_INT keeps high. It does not become to low.)

Our customer ask us how can they make it does not wakeup when it is at the broadcast packet. Is that possible?

    INT pin stays high with broadcast packet. That is correct behavior of WOL feature.

    What do you mean by "it will be waked up even if the packet is with broadcast"? What is your definition of "wake-up" here?

    Is these behavior correct operation?

    INT pin goes "Low" with magic packet. WOL works.

    INT pin stay "High" with broadcast packet. But WOL works.(Our customer says it wake-up.)

    Our customer ask us about the following behavior.

    INT pin stay "High" with broadcast packet. And WOL does not work.

    Is the above behavior possible for this device?

    For INT pin for WOL feature:

    - INT pin goes "Low" with magic packet. ==> Correct behavior

    - INT pin stay "High" with broadcast packet. ==> Correct behavior

    I'm still not sure I understand your definition of "wake-up" here.

    From the PHY perspective, it only generates the interrupt signal upon receiving a magic packet. The PHY itself does not perform any wake-up action.

    In a typical application with WOL, connected devices (CPU, peripheral devices ... ) above Physical Layer can be in lower power mode. The PHY still needs to be in normal mode and has link in order to receive magic packet. Upon receiving a magic packet from the network, the PHY generates interrupt signal to other devices to wake them up.
