I'd like to check an application circuit for my customer.
From the attached schematic provided by RD, the SN65HVD10 will transmit to MAX3221,
Would there be any risk to connect directly?

Do you mean SN65HVD10 and MAX3221 share a same wire? It's OK to do so, but please be aware that SN65HVD10 bus pins have -9V to 14V abs max. Theoretically RS-232 signal swing from -15V to 15V. However MAX3221 Dout range is much smaller than that, which works with SN65HVD10. Please let me know if you have more questions.
