DS125DF1610: ds125df1610

Part Number: DS125DF1610

Hi,

  when I use 0x36=0x30, DS125DF1610 always show unlock. when I change it to "00", it can lock well. But "00" used for debug only, do I miss some configuration?

 reg : {0x2F, 0x60, 0x61, 0x62, 0x63, 0x64, 0x67}

 value : {0xC6, 0x90, 0xB3, 0x90, 0xB3, 0xDD, 0x20},  //10G

2F: use B6 or C6 same behave

Thanks

  • Hi,

    My hypothesis here is that the retimer input signal frequency is not meeting the retimer PPM tolerance requirement.

    I would suggest the following, while keeping 0x36[5:4]=b11:

    • Make sure the retimer input data rate is exactly 10.3125 Gbps
    • To set the CDR for 10.3125Gbps it is sufficient to set 0x2F = 0xB6. You should not need to also set manual CDR mode values via registers 0x60 thru 0x63
    • Try setting channel register 0x64 = 0xFF
    • Try disabling PPM check by setting channel register 0x2F[2]=0
