SN65LVDS31: Additive jitter

Hello,

Would you let us know the additive jitter number of SN65LVDS31? There is a similar post but it is unclear for me because the application note discuss about cable.

I think additive jitter is the number how much jitter added from input to output of the device. Would you let us know SN65LVDS31 additive jitter?

Hello Watanabe-san,

Unfortunately, we don’t have specific numbers for the SN65LVDS31 additive jitter. We have done some more end to end testing similar to what’s described in the app note you referred to (http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slla053b/slla053b.pdf ). The results of this new testing is presented in this app note: http://www.ti.com/lit/an/slaa844/slaa844.pdf . It doesn’t specify the jitter added by the SN65LVDS31, however, from the results we expect the additive jitter for SN65LVDS31 to be on the order of few hundred pico-seconds. Sorry that we don’t have a more specific answer.
