TCAN4550-Q1: TCAN4550-Q1

Part Number: TCAN4550-Q1

Hello,

We are planing to design a board with 4 Channels  using the TCAN4550-Q1 to support Canbus and CAN FD  for Automotive use.

How do you recommend to Isolate the CANbus? Isn't recommended that the CanBus to be Isolated between Channels?

We need to be able to support SocketCan, do you have any Linux driver that you can provide and any API  or examples ?

  • Ahmad,

In environments where the CAN bus side can see very high voltages (think an industrial environment or HEV), we have seen systems that isolate the CAN bus side of the transceiver from the controller side. TI has isolated CAN transceivers for these particular use cases. What kind of application is this, and do you expect high voltages to be seen for long periods of time?

If you click on my username, you'll find my email, and I can send over a link to our Linux drivers if you send me an email.

    Regards,
