DS90UH940-Q1EVM: Queries about 940 EVM

Part Number: DS90UH940-Q1EVM

Hi,

I have few queries about the DS90UH940. Requesting the below information please.

1. I have a TDA2xx EVM5777 . This has a FPD-Link III output. It has the 925 serializer. As i understand, this will be compatible with the 940 EVM. Pls confirm.

2. Can the 940 EVM be connected to the TDA2Px board. Are they compatible?

3. As i understand, the connectors on the TDA2Px CSI 2 inputs and the CSI 2 ouputs on the 940 are quite different. So, how do i connect the output of the 940 to the application processor?

Is there any breakout board or a converter board available that can facilitate this?

4. There is two possible inputs, but only one FPD-Link III input connector? So, if we want to connect two inputs, do we need to use the SMA connectors?

The use of J3,J4 and J8,J9 is not clear.

5. What are CML outputs for?

6. If i use the 949, and a HDMI based video playback on a laptop or a embedded board, then are there any requirements in terms of color depth, of image size etc. for it to be compatible with the 940?

7. Can i use the CSI 2 output as a video sensor and connect it to the 953 ( in place of the camera daughter board )? Will they be compatible?
Is there any converter/connector available, which will facilitate this?

8. How is the data split between CSI 0 and CSI 1?

kindly let me know the above

Thanks and Regards,

  • 1. Yes, they are compatible.

2 and 3. You would need an adapter from header pin to QSH/QTH connector.

    4. The FPD-Link III in put connector has four pins for both FPD-Link port 0 and port1. You could get a STQ cable and use the connector or use the SMAs.

925 only has one FPD-Link port, and it should connect to 940 port 0.

    5. It outputs the forward channel signal after equalization.

    6. Requirements are listed on first page of 940 datasheet.

    7. Yes, 940 to 953 are compatible however you would need to source your own converter for the EVM.

    8. 940 datasheet figure 28 Datapath Configurations shows some example.

    Best Regards,
