DS90UB949-Q1: DS90UB949-Q1 application issue

Part Number: DS90UB949-Q1

Dear TI:

Please help to check DS90UB949-Q1  application issue as below:

1, The datasheet written to "HDMI-mode DisplayPort (DP++) inputs“, what mode is this? Does it support DP signal input? If the 949 supports DP input, what configuration needs to be pay special attention for the output signal for the SOC of the DP output?

2, What do C0 and C1 represent in the graph below? How are RGB, IIC, sync signal, GPIO and IIS arranged in 35Bit date of Forward channel? Meanwhile, how are the IIC, CRC, 4 bits of standard in back channel arranged?

3, If ds90ub949-q1 does not support DP input, are there devices that support DP input recommended?

     Thanks!

Regards!

  • eRIC,

thanks for approaching TI in the E2E.

    1. 949 can't support DP I/f, it just support HDMI I/f, this is different with DP I/f.

    2. The d/s just gives you the p->s signal which includes 35bits per serial stream. For RGB888, which is embedded into these 35bits, also the I2C/I2S/GPIO are mapped into these 35bits as well. C0/C1 is used for control, this is on FPD-Link protocol, it doesn't impact your RGB signals transmission.

    3. TI has solution for DP but Pls ask for TI's local team for help, we need you provide more detailed message to TI's local team.

    regards,

    Steven
