DS64BR111: On Chip 50 ohm termination resistor

Part Number: DS64BR111

Hi Team,

I received a request on DS64BR111.

Is not clear the description of Differential High Speed I/O's.

An on-chip 50Ω termination resistor connects INx+ to VDD and INx- to VDD when enabled.

Is possible to disable it or is always on when the device is used?

Regards,

Fabio

  • Hi,

When the datasheet states "when enabled" it means when the device VDD is powered up. There are no terminations when device VDD is powered down. The termination resistors cannot be disabled while device is powered up.

  • Hi Fabio.

There will always be a 100 ohm differential termination from IN+ to IN-.  When the channel is disabled the common mode connection to VDD will be released, but the 100 ohm differential resistance will remain in place.
