TCA9555: Does I2C communication become unable when POR failed?

Part Number: TCA9555

Hi Team,

My customer asked below inquiry so please advise?

--

Please let me know the behavior when POR of TCA9555PWR fails.

The rumor is that IIC access will not be possible,

I want to confirm the facts urgently.

Thanks

Best regards,

Shidara

  • Shidara,

I haven't seen an unresponsive IO expander due to PoR before in my years of supporting I2C devices. The only thing I've seen is when an IO expander has a bad PoR, the device will start up with the wrong values in its register which can be resolved by configuring the registers through I2C transactions.
