Hello,

We are using the TI DP83867IR capable GbE PHY's on many of our products. We have a customer asking if this PHY have a 'pin' that can be configured to output a PPS signal from the IEEE1588 engine.

Do you know the answer or can you point me in the right direction?

HI Mehdrad,

DP83867 supports only detection of Start of Frame to improve the latency jitter of 1588 MAC timing. It does not have inbuilt 1588 stack to synchronise and provide 1pps output.

What is the application you need 1588 from PHY ? Can you explore it using MAC for 1588?
