Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

We have some question on TUSB1046A-DCI EVM:

1. In demo circuit, could we use TPS65982DAZQZR on PD controller?

2. In demo circuit, what different between NC and DNI?

3. How to decide two modes as below? when will go 1 and when will go 2? or IC will automatically judge?

1. I am not aware of a TPS65982DAZQZR, the two part numbers for TPS65982 are the TPS65982ABZBHR or the TPS65982ABZQZR.

2. The NC and DNI are the same.

3. The two modes are configured by the PD controller base on the CC communication. But you can also override the PD controller and manually set the two modes either in the GPIO or the I2C mode.

As EVM reference schematic,

If we only need supports 5V@3A
Are these two parts of schematic didn't needed?
If yes, is it directly floating?

Hi Shu-Cheng,

I would suggest following the data sheet recommendation for when those pins on TPS65982 are unused. You cannot leave all of them floating.
