TRS3223E: Current capability of Driver pins

Part Number: TRS3223E

Hi Team,

One of my customers is evaluating TRS3223E.

He wants to Know the current capability of Dout1 and Dout2 pins. This parameter is not mentioned in the datasheet though the short circuit current has been mentioned.

Please help .

Regards,

Harmeet

  • Hi Harmeet,

The short-circuit current specification represents the maximum possible current that the DOUT ports could source.  Under normal conditions, though, the output current will be lower.  For example, for a worst-case RS-232 load of 3 kOhms the typical output voltage is +/- 5.4 V.  This means that the output current in this case would be 1.8 mA.

I hope this is clear - please let us know if you have any further questions.

    Regards,
    Max
