What is the default state on nFault (i.e. do we need an external pullup resistor)?

    Viktorija,

    No external pull-up is needed, this pin is driven by an internal circuit. The state of nFAULT is dependent on the state of the device you're going into and coming out of, as well as different fault conditions, all of which are explained in the datasheet starting on page 19. However, in normal mode with no faults present, nFAULT should be a logic high.
