AM26LS31: Exterior Problems of AM26LS31

Part Number: AM26LS31

Hello

I have a question for you.

We use your products and we are not in trouble for this matter.

We are using AM26LS31C devices.

I noticed that painting on the surface of the same element is different.

I'd like to know why it's different.

If there is a difference between the manufacturing plants, please ask if we can get an example picture.

I'd like to check if I can check for genuine or fake items by painting.

Of course, I have to ask you if you can tell the exact authenticity, but I'll ask you if you can tell the difference by appearance.

Please check the picture below.

  • Hello,

Both of these markings appear correct to me.  The device with marking ending in "K" was built in TI Malaysia, while the device with marking ending in "M" was built in TI Mexico.  It is normal for there to be variation in the character fonts and sizing between different assembly sites since each one has unique equipment and processes for symbol marking.  The lot trace codes shown in these photos appear to be correct as well.

In general it may be difficult to recognize counterfeit ICs by the style of the marking alone.  The best way to lower risk is to purchase from an authorized TI distributor.  If you do find a device that you suspect may be counterfeit, you can contact TI to verify.

    Regards,
    Max
