TPIC8101: bias current of CHxP, CHxN pins

Part Number: TPIC8101

Hello Team,

I have a query from my customer on bias current for CH1P, CH1N, CH2P and CH2N pins of TPIC8101 device.

Recommended operating condition listed +/-1uA as limits for DC input current for these pins, is this same as bias current of the device?

If yes, it is miss-leading to put this spec under recommended operating conditions.

Regards,

  • Mahendra,

Sorry about this late reply, we missed this thread till now and we will look into this & get back with you soon.

  • Hi Mahendra, I can see why you have this confusion. Let me try to explain what is the guideline to use the input currents on chxp and chxn pins. If you see the application on the chxp/chxn pins the device is configured as a differentiator. The input current can greatly be effected if you change the gain and the input capacitance connected. As a guidance for the TPIC8101 recommendation to configure the input capacitors and resistors the maximum input current should be with in +/- 1 uA.
