DS90UB941AS-Q1: How to compute the MIPI_DSI clock

Part Number: DS90UB941AS-Q1

Dear team,

There is a formula as below in the data sheet . In our application, the screen is 1920*720. 60fps, the 948 chip is used on the screen side, and the two sets of 10-line LVDS modes are used. According to the below formula, the clock should be around 300MHz. Please help to confirm that it is correct?

Thanks & Best Regards,

Sherry

  • Hello Sherry,

You need to know the specific PCLK requirement of your screen to find this value. Please consult the screen vendor for this data. I would estimate something like ~95MHz or so for this resolution.

Then you can calculate the DSI frequency requirement by using the formula above, so with 95MHz PCLK for the screen and 4 lanes of DSI, the DSI data rate would be ~286.16MHz.

For 948 in dual OLDI mode (10 lanes), the PCLK gets divided by two and each OLDI set outputs half the frequency of the full image.

    Best Regards,

    Casey
