Dear TI Team:
I got a trouble that there is no any LVDS signals output in Deserializer 928 board.
The following are my platform setup.
1. Serializer 927 are paired with Deserializer 928 with FPD-Link III cable.
2. I can talk Deserializer 928 registers by Serializer 927.
3. I can set 927 to enable Pattern generator mode and Deserializer 928 can normally output LVDS to driver display, this is no problem.
4. When I disable Serializer 927 pattern generator mode and signals source is form external LVDS channels. But Deserializer 928 has no any response from 927 LVDS signals.
I have some questions would like TI can support me to clarify.
a. Once 927 & 928 are paired with successful. And I followed TI normal registers setting. If LVDS input to 927, should Deserializer 928 have LVDS output from 927?
b. If the answer is yes, do I miss something? or have to set some registers to enable something?
Looking forward to your feedback.
Hi,
Pls check the input video format and check the LVDS format mapping with UB9827/ub928. since the pattern test from ub927 is correct, it sounds the link should be ok. also, if UB928 has no LVDS output, whether UB928 is locked or not?

-> yes, this is function design just as you conduct the pattern test.
b. If the answer is yes, do I miss something? or have to set some registers to enable something?
-> see above comments.

Dear Steven:
Many thanks for your feedback.
Before LVDS format checking, how can I know whether UB928 is locked or not? Should I check registers content?
By the way, if LVDS format are not correct, UB928 will auto lock by itself, am I right?
Looking forward to your feedback.
Hi wenhung,
1. UB928 lock indication is dependent on the link error not relative with LVDS format. You can measure the lock pin of UB928 to check whether it is hold at high level status, if yes, UB928 is locked stable.
2. the format map would impact the video content. if it is confused, the panel would not display correctly.
regards,
Steven
