TUSB211: Not working as expected

Part Number: TUSB211
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TUSB212

Hello,

I've designed a PCB whose purpose is to redrive an USB2 HS signal. It is located at the front of a device.

The relevant parts of the schematic and routing are attached to this post. The USB traces are theoretically 90 ohms impedance matched.

The problem is:

First I've tried to test a very simple setup: the PCB with the TUSB211 is connected to a USB2 HS flash drive directly. There is about 1.5m of cable between the host and the PCB.

If I remove the power supply from the TUSB211, the USB flash drive works properly.

If I turn on the PSU, not matter what EQ level I select (and yes, I properly reset the chip each time I change this setting), the USB flash drive never enumerates.

I've tried with other devices, other cables, it is always worst with the TUSB211 turned on.

We do not own a very high speed oscilloscope nor the proper USB test fixture, so I can't measure the eye diagram.

Is something obvious missing?

Thanks in advance,

Victor
