The placement of SN65DP141 as shown in your schematic is OK, the equalizer of SN65DP141 would compensate for the 6000mil trace loss, the equalizer would be set close to the loss of the 6000mil trace.
I noticed in your schematic that the output is being labeled 'DVI', what is your input and output?
The SN65DP141 is optimized for both trace and cable application at its input. The device pin EQ_MODE sets the EQ gain curve profile suitable for these two use cases. Please see section 8.4.3 and section 8.4.4 for the EQ configuration.
