DP83822I: About setting 4-Level strap configuration

Please let me know about setting for 4-Level strap configuration below;

①About Datasheet page-47 Table-9, default setting are described open.

　Are strapping pin really left open, OK?

　Datasheet page-5 is described below,

 

②When after PHY power supplied, can MODE1~MODE4 change directory by serial management interface without external pullup/pulldown resistor (= Left open)?   

③When CRS pin (datasheet Page-48 Table-11) set MODE3 and both LED0(Table 13) and LED1(table 14) configuration are set MODE3, which is correct for below reference circuit?

④About datasheet Page-50 Figure-31, what is the mean of 1.96kΩ to 2.49kΩ?

　Only Rp value or combined resistance of RP and RCL?

    Hi Satoshi,

    A1) The pins are technically not 'open'. There are internal pull resistors that will have default configuration. If you do not want the default configuration then you can add external resistors to change the strap.

    A2) Yes

    A3) You cannot set LED pins to MODE 3. They can only be MODE 1 or MODE 4. CRS pin controls the LED function. The LED pins have their own bootstrap and control other features independent of CRS bootstrap. LED pins at boot will automatically configure for active high or low depending on strap mode so you do not have to do this manually.

    A4) Rp can be between 1.96k ohm to 2.49k ohm.
