Hi Sirs,

Sorry to bother you.

We have to make a test board for product testing.
The main objectives are as follows,
To test USB 5V/3A and 9V/3A with TPS65988,
Attachment TPS65988 circuit diagram,
Please help to confirm schematic as below..
(We would like to know how to connect PP1_CABLE and PP2_CABLE?) To connect the power supply USB1 and power supply USB2?)

Hi Shu-Cheng,

If you are only wanting to test at 3A, and do not need to worry about Thunderbolt alternate mode, than there is not need to support active cable which is the purpose of PP_CABLE. However, if you want to support this anyways, you just need to supply PP1_CABLE and PP2_CABLE with a 5V supply.

Also, you can only have a max of 10uF attached on VBUS per the USB Type-C spec

Sorry have more questions as below

Application mainly through the TPS65988 to test the output of USB type C and type A (5V/2.4A, 5V/3A, 9V/3A),
1. PP1_CABLE is connected to PPHV1, PP2_CABLE is connected to PPHV2... right?
2. The correctness of other lines, unused pins or functions... need to be treated specifically (floating, connect to GND or connect to Vcc)

Hello Shu-Cheng,

PP1_CABLE and PP2_CABLE need to be connected to a dedicated 5V source located on your system. That is only if you want to support active cable for 5A sourcing/sinking or specific alternate modes that require it.

As far as connections you are not using, refer to the pin descriptions within the datasheet for the proper recommendation as to handle that specific pin not being used

Hello,

All of your I2C connections need to be pulled up to the 3V3 LDO coming from the TPS65988, not your system 3V3. Besides that, do not see any other issues with your design and should be fine.
