DP83849C: RJ45 Loopback

Dear DP83894c Experts,

I would like to run a RJ-45 loopback test; that is with a plug on the RJ45 that loops the TX data to RX.

Post reset, are there any registers that I must configure in order to see a successful loopback of an ethernet frame?

With Auto-Neg set to 100M, you shall see the link is up and data transfer shall go thru.

Hi Geet,

I proceeded with the RJ-45 loopback before answer arrived and it worked. It works without auto-negotiation. It works with 100 bits/sec set. I guess this is not abnormal , yes ?

Tx and Rx are seperate and you can setup link using external loop back.
