TUSB4020BI: Behavior with a USB-SD/MMC controller

Genius 17295 points
Part Number: TUSB4020BI

Hello

My customer is using TUSB4020BI and a USB-SD/MMC controller IC (non-TI)
The USB-SD/MMC controller IC is connected to one of slave ports of TUSB4020BI with Windows 10 IoT Enterprise environment.
When trying to remove SD card from the task bar on the Windows, they can only choose only “Remove Ultra fast media”.
And it looks not working correctly. After selecting it, the device manager shows just “USB mass storage !”.
And SD card is never recognized again even if removing and inserting SD card again.

When trying to remove SD card from the explorer, it works correctly.

I feel this issue is not due to TUSB4020BI, but I just want to confirm whether there is any way to solve this issue by changing something TUSB4020BI configuration.
Is there any way? Do you think this issue is caused by this USB-SD/MMC controller rather than TUSB?

Regards,
Oba

  • Hi Oba,

This issue is not related to the TUSB4020B and there is no solution that can be implemented by modifying the TUSB4020B.  I would guess there is some issue with how the USB-SD/MMC card reader is processing the "device removal" command, but that cannot be changed thru the hub.
