DP83822H: AM4376 booting issue

Hi Champs,

My customer is facing a Linux boot issue using through AM4376 / DP83822H (in RMII mode) as it is described in the following E2E thread : https://e2e.ti.com/support/processors/f/791/p/825011/3053098#3053098

As a summary the issue does not appear on TI AM4376 EVM (http://www.ti.com/tool/TMDSIDK437X) using a Microchip RGMII PHY but appears on customer’s board using TI RMII DP83822H instead (despite the fact that the device tree has been updated to use the correct pinmux and mdio settings for the TI PHY.)

Could you please help in investigating this issue which sounds linked to DP83822H linux driver configuration?

Hi Guillaume,

It looks like the DP83822 can link up and pass packet properly. It looks to me this is protocol related issue, which is beyond the PHY layer.

Can you refer to this application note for debugging modes of the PHY and confirm whether the issue is really PHY related or not?
