DS90UB928QEVM: bringup the evaluation board

Hi Team,

I have DS90UB929Q-Q1 EVM connected via FPD-Link III to DS90UB928QEVM.

I've connected HDMI input to the DS90UB929Q-Q1 EVM and LVDS (OpenLDI) display of 3 lanes to the DS90UB928QEVM. The topology is recognized by the Analog LaunchPad software and the registers can be accessed. Also, the HDMI input is detected.

However, the display doesn't work (I can’t see image).

As there is no updated user manual for the DS90UB928QEVM, I can’t tell if there are any configuration/jumpers/switches which should be configured.

So:

What is the board configuration to tunnel the FPD-Link to the LVDS header (J5 “TX_OUT”)?
Is there any additional configuration which must be done to tunnel the HDMI to the FPD-Link in the DS90UB929Q-Q1EVM?

Could you please advice?

Hello Shai,

Where is the EDID information being configured to tell the HDMI source what resolution the display is? Have you verified on the HDMI source that the correct resolution is detected?

Also for 3 lanes LVDS output, you need to select 18 bits color on the 928 by setting register 0x22[2] = 1
