DP83TC811R-Q1: How to configure the RX_DV pin on DP83TC811R-Q1 in RMII mode

Hi,

We are using the DP83TC811R-Q1 in RMII Slave mode.

We would like the RX_DV/CRS_DV/RX_CTRL pin (pin 15) to be configured as RX_DV.

As per the datasheet on page 36 under 8.4.13.2 Reduced Media Independent Interface : The DP83TC811R-Q1 RMII supplies an RX_DV signal, which provides a simpler method to recover receive data without the need to separate RX_DV from the CRS_DV indication. RX_ER is also supported even though it is not required by the RMII specification.

In Figure 25 it also shows that there is a separate RX_DV (optional).

How do we configure the PHY so that the RX_DV/CRS_DV/RX_CTRL pin (pin 15) is configured as RX_DV? As far we can tell, the pin is configured as CRS_DV by default.

Hi Luke,

CRS_DV is required signal from RMII specification. There is no separate RX_DV for this device.

Thanks for the information.

With regard to Figure 25, it shows that there is a separate RX_DV (optional). Is this a typo/mistake?
