SN65HVD62: SN65HVD62 application circuit

Part Number: SN65HVD62

Hello,

We are trying to implement Base-station system architecture with AISG (block diagram attached) with the use of SN65HVD62. Where can I get the application circuit for this part? Do you have a recommended micro-controller to use for this application? We are also trying to get dc + rf + aisg combined at the bottom control unit  and onto the coaxial cable and split it up at top with the help of a Bias tee circuit (as you see there is bias tee block in the diagram). Do you have a application circuit for this or do you have any bias tee ICs that could do this job? Please let me know.

  • Hi Swetha,

In terms of a recommended microcontroller, since the device supports a standard UART-style serial interface using flexibly logic levels on TXIN/RXOUT/DIRSET/etc., it should be suitable for use with most MCUs on the market.  There are probably other system-level factors outside of the interface supported that would be more critical in MCU selection for a given application.

For a bias-tee, although we do not have specific component recommendations the basic structure would involve a series capacitance for RF data coupling onto the line (i.e., the "Cc" capacitance shown Figure 19 of the datasheet) and an inductance in series with the power lines.  The capacitor blocks the low-frequency/DC power signal from interacting with the modem and the inductor blocks the RF data from interfering with the power circuits.  As such, the values should be chosen such that the capacitor is low impedance and the inductor is high impedance at the carrier frequency (2.176 MHz).

    Regards,

  • Are you referring to something like this for the bias tee circuit?

  • Swetha,

Yes, that is correct.  Thanks for taking time to draw it out.
