My customer is asking for TI CAN Transceiver solution. May I have your help for suggestion?

The CAN pins shall operate to specification after exposure to voltages up to 30 V.
- [Note]: Nominal operating voltage is 24 V ± 1 V, Over-Voltage Protection is 27 to 30 V.
The CAN Bus shall recover without intervention by an operator when ESD is applied to the outer metal shell
- [Note]: ESD SPEC as IEC 60601-1-2:2014: ± 8 kV contact, ± 15 kV air Horizontal/Vertical coupling plane the PSU shall recover without intervention by an operator.

In addition, IC need to meet the following requirements.

Shall be capable of supporting Classical Base Frame Format (11-bit identifier) and Classical Extended Frame Format (29-bit identifier) in accordance with ISO 11898-2:2016.

Shall comply with a CAN bus specification that includes an error checking and correction strategy as per ISO 11898-1:2015.

The baud rate of 1 Mb/s and satisfy the bit timing requirements of ISO 11898-1:2015 (Clause 11.3) at this baud rate.

The PSU shall use CAN bus for communication with the FG.

Sean,

These requirements will be no problem either. These actually relate more to the CAN data protocol that would be implemented in the controller device that interfaces to the TXD/RXD lines, but the TCAN1042 would not present any problems in meeting these requirements assuming a proper controller were used. Please let me know if that isn't clear.

There are non-Q1 versions of the TCAN1042 with an "H" suffix in the part number, which denotes 70-V tolerance. There isn't a non-automotive version available of the standard TCAN1042, though.
