DP83822I: DP83822I

Part Number: DP83822I

Hi E2E Team:

What the difference among these three modes for DP83822?

Now I want to link to my PC,what mode should I set?

Many thanks for help

  • Hi,

In force mode, the PHY will be forced to a specific speed and duplex mode of your choice. In advertise mode, the PHY will auto-negotiate with a suitable link partner and select the best possible communication mode. In fiber mode, the PHY will work with fiber optic transceivers and cables instead of copper wire.

For working with PC, I would recommend selecting the last mode from the Advertise modes table FX_EN=0, AN_EN =1, AN_1=1, AN_0=0.

  • Hi Aniruddha:

    Thank you for your reply

Now I have switched to the configuration you suggest

I still have another question,do I need to enable the EEE opperation?

    Many Thanks

  • Hi,

Whether or not EEE needs to be enabled depends on end user requirement. If your application needs EEE, then you can enable it. The PHY will work in both EEE enable and disable case.
