Hi~

As you know the PD adapter’s voltage was variable , when the PD adapter plugged, the PD adapter voltage will change from 5V to 20V. May I know

1. Will PD controller active UVP or/and OVP during transition?

2. When is the judged point when PD controller start to gate UVP or/and UVP?

Hello Tiger,

I would recommend reading through the Type-C PD spec to get a better understanding of the PD negotiation/transition. Here is a capture found from the Type-C spec.

This is PD spec for its transition behavior.

However, my question is how TPS65988 monitor and judge UVP.

UVP and OVP are not normal behavior in the spec.

Is the UVP response after tSrcSettle?

Hi Tiger,

Yes, after tSrcSettle, if the voltage is below the threshold programmed within the PD controller, then a UVP event will occur.
