TPS65987D: Is the Host Peripheral role (through CC lines) available on GPIO pin

Hi team,

My customer has below question, could you help me? Appreciate an answer this week.

TPS65987D is part of a design. However, I still have a question about the role detection of the USB interface. With USB 2.0 this was defined by an ID pin. With USB type-C this is done through the CC lines.

I assume that TPS65987D is able to define the role of the interface based on the CC lines (host / peripheral)? Is it possible to bring out the result of this detection via a GPIO pin of TPS65987D (to route to TUSB1210)?

Hi Frank,

Yes that's correct, the communication is done through the CC pins. It is also possible to control a GPIO pin based on an event. You can configure the GPIO events using the I/O settings in the GUI. If you would like more information on the supported GPIO events, you may take a look at Table 3-74 in the Technical Reference Manual using the link below.
