Dear,

our customer use DP83848 as PHY, but the chip was damaged when in endurance est, we advise customer to add ESD protect,please help to review schematic design as follows, thanks.

HI Zhang,

I believe the board is already working and only change is ESD diode protection on the MDI pins between PHY IC and Magentics. These looks ok. Please ensure the ESD diodes specs are appropriate for the PHY IC.

Any other change on the board & you want us to review ?

thanks for your advice.

customer also want your help to check the other part of the schematic,

if there are some parameters not reasonable, such as resistor value.....

we still can't confirm the reason of chip damage, just in case...

Hi Vincent,

With POE, external ESD protection is needed on DP83848. In general schematics looks ok, I can help with specific query if you have.
