TUSB212: Location suggestion

Hi,

Customer plans to use TUSb212 on a system daughter board with topology as below, and it may be very close to PD controller with distance around 5mm due to the daughter board size. is such distance ok or not? May i have your comments?

USB host on MB --> connector --> system daughter board --> TUSB212 -> PD conttroller --> Type-c connector

Hi,

Are you using a PD controller that has integrated USB 2 mux? If not the PD controller, should not be placed on the USB 2 bus. TUSB212 in this case should be placed close to the Type-C connector.

Note: PD and CC controllers should only operate over CC lines to manage Type-C device detection, Type-C Mid/High current charging, etc. This assumes there are no USB2 or USB3 mux integrated into the device.
